Orthodontics

Not only does straightening your teeth improve the aesthetics of your smile, but it also helps improve the functionality of your bite. If you’re looking to get your teeth straightened, call us today for an Orthodontic assessment.

What is orthodontics?

Orthodontics is the science of straightening teeth using conventional braces (bands and wires) or removable devices such as Invisalign. It’s a specialised branch of dentistry, focusing on the diagnosis and correction of misaligned teeth and jaws. The goal is to achieve the best functionality, alignment and aesthetics for the teeth. Especially for children, orthodontics is used to prevent future abnormalities early on.

Orthodontics at our Ipswich clinic

At Camira Dental, we have a visiting Orthodontist, Dr Angelo Cavallaro, who visits regularly on Wednesday mornings. Dr Cavallaro has a Master’s degree in Orthodontics from the University of Queensland. He’s also a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, World Federation of Orthodontists, as well as the American Association of Orthodontists.

Our clinic is located in the Springfield corridor in Ipswich and is easily accessible to Brisbane residents as well. As a family-owned clinic, we focus on creating a warm and friendly environment, whilst providing quality care to our patients. We take pride in our patient-centred approach, offering honest advice solely based on medical needs.

Orthodontics for kids

We like to see all kids from age 10-12 for an orthodontic assessment. At this age orthodontic treatment proceeds faster.

Orthodontics for adults

Adults can also be treated with orthodontics. It just takes a little longer, as we are no longer moving teeth through the more pliable growing bone, as is the case of children.

What to expect on your visit

If you suspect you might need to visit the dentist, whether for a regular check-up or a specific problem, the first step is to give us a call. Our friendly dental assistants can help you with most inquiries, booking you in for a further consultation or treatment.

When you come in, your dentist will have a discussion with you about your needs and propose treatment. At Camira Dental, we take pride in telling the truth about patient needs, never engaging in up-selling.

You’ll get an upfront quote on the full cost of treatment before starting. If needed, it’s possible to prioritise treatment to spread out the cost. We won’t start any treatment without your verbal consent to proceed with the plan.

We use innovative pain-free techniques, providing gentle care. If you have sensitive teeth or a fear of the dentist, don’t hesitate to let our team know. We’ll do our best to make you feel comfortable during your visit.
